Yamaha raider ecu flash4/20/2024 ![]() The Speed Triple was wimpy by comparison until it was well up in the rpms, very much like a quad cylinder bike. I've ridden both and found the FZ to be amazing at any speed or rpm. Those with experience on both bikes say the FZ blows the doors off the Street Triple. Entry level price comparison easily lets you mod the FZ as much or as little as you want to equal anything the Triumph does and still spend less overall. Track, commuting, aggressive street riding? But as others have posted here, the FZ can be set up for however you want to use it. I'm 170 lbs and my suspension is fine stock. Lots of our bigger forum members are happy with the bike after doing that. If you're over 200 lbs, suspension for sure. Required mods for you FZ depends on your height and weight. One last thing, how do you like the look of the street triple compared to fz09? Every time I get off the bike I appreciate what a premium super sport bike and well engineered machine it is, but as soon as I ride my 09 I realized hiw easily it does everything the Beamer does, only fraction of the cost, triple the comfort. ![]() My other bike is s1000rr, and I like every premium option in it, heated grips, abs, anti traction. Mine is 2014 all stock except ecu flash, everything else is cosmetic. Once you test ride an fz09 see if any of those bothers you (seat, suspension.) if something felt wrong with $2k you can make the 09 a real personalized beast, and if you felt the stock bike is adequate then you saved yourself $3k over street triple. I have never ridden street triple, so can't give you comparison, however I know it's overal better balanced and higher quality machine, power matches suspension, seat comfort is adequate to seating position. Today after work I stopped at my local Yammie dealer and they have a 2016 Raven FZ-09 that is exactly the setup I would want and the OTD price is $8,080. but I WOULD really appreciate any advice you guys could offer as to what you may have wish you knew about before you bought your FZ-09?Īnything I should be aware of or prepared for? Any quirks that have made you regret your purchase? Any must have day one modifications I should prepare for as part of the purchase? You get the idea. I don't need anyone here to help sell me on the FZ-09. I just want something to make me smile and laugh like all those folks in the rider reviews. and that's really what I'm looking for in my next bike. ![]() "WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" However, when I watch video after video of riders on the FZ-09 there is a a VERY common theme. ![]() They all talk about how wonderful the Striple is and I don't think anyone will argue otherwise. "after you are done riding it the bike washes itself and makes you pancakes" "it's confidence inspiring and will make you a much better rider than you really are" "it's the epitome of the modern street bike" I watch all these videos about the Striple and they say: This coming Saturday there is a Yamaha truck coming to a local bike shop with the FZ-09 as well as others and so I'm going to head down there first thing and get in line to finally throw my leg over the FZ-09 and see how it feels.Įssentially what I'm going with at this point in my gut. The sound, the engine and the bike fits my frame well. I've had the chance to demo ride the Striple twice and I really like it. it's really come down to the Street Triple or the FZ-09. I've done my research, watched 100+ video reviews and read all the spec's so I don't need any advice on why I should buy an FZ-09. I really love the idea, sound and power delivery of a triple engine as well. I have no intention of selling my M109R, but rather picking up something to compliment it. I love my M109R and I am now looking to add another bike to my stable that's light and fun to throw around. I've had many bikes and in recent years a ZX-14, a Yamaha Raider and for the last 4 years I've been riding my 2011 M109R. ![]() I've read this thread a million times and always tried to give some helpful advice when I could so here I am finally on the other side of the table asking you guys to help me out. ![]()
